The St. Louis Blues have signed C Nick Bjugstad to a two-year contract worth an average annual value of $1.75m.

Bjugstad, 32, spent the last two-plus seasons with the Arizona Coyotes turned Utah Mammoth. He put up 22 goals and 45 points in 2023-24, both second-highest totals of his career, before scoring just eight last year.

Bjugstad currently slots into the Blues' 3C position. This move likely means that UFA Radek Faksa will not return to the team.

General Manager Doug Armstrong made it no secret that the Blues planned to add a center this offseason. He has one now, but not the second-liner that he was seemingly after.

Barring any changes, it appears that Brayden Schenn is still going to slot in as the 2C until Dalibor Dvorsky potentially earns the spot.

The Blues are still linked to players like UFA Mikael Granlund and RFA Bowen Byram, and have players like Oskar Sundqvist, Mathieu Joseph, Alex Texier and Nick Leddy that could be moved to clear cap. They might not be done.
